Dirty Rice

 Spring Break is finally here.
I started my break off at an album release party for Dirty Rice, a local reggae band. I first heard them play last year when they opened a concert for one of my favorite bands, and I've loved them ever since. I'm proud of them  for getting so far and expect great things from them in the near future.
----
My original plans to travel during my break were cancelled so I'll be spending this week in my hometown.
But that's okay, I'll definitely make the best of my spring break!

It's the week before spring break and all hell is breaking loose.
Last minute exams, project due dates, and a substantial amount of essays make me long for spring break more and more. I made this maxi skirt yesterday as I procrastinated on my school work.
----
I'm glad to say that I'm done with school and essentially already on spring break because I will be at a neighboring school's chalk festival for the rest of the school week. I'd pick drawing outdoors with messy chalk over sitting in a class room for hours any day.
Let spring break begin.

Debut.

I had a great time at FIDM Debut 2013.
I loved how the show opened with a Les Miserables tribute to showcase the Costume Design department! The show then continued with a collaboration between the Interior Design, Textile Design, and Fashion Design students with chairing styles. Later came the long anticipated runway show which showcased collections from select graduating FIDM students. Ethnic gowns to active wear. Bold black, white, and red to romantic silhouettes. Bohemian gowns to childrens wear.
I loved the variety of collections. Great show overall.
----
I have mentioned before in an earlier post that I was admitted to FIDM early as a junior.
Although I was admitted to the school, I don't think that I'll attend.
I think FIDM is a great school and their students are capable of fabulous heights, I just don't think it's for me.
I need to decide my university soon. The near future is going to be interesting.

The social stress of my senior year is beginning to sink in.
College acceptances/denials. Group projects. Job interviews. Prom date hunting season. I'm dealing with the negative side of things and the pressure is striking. I don't understand why many glamorize the final year of high school; there is nothing glamorous about it!

On the other hand, do you notice anything different about my blog?
Yes? No?
Well, I'm happy to announce That One Golden Girl has been hand-selected as a Teen Vogue Fashion Click blog! I'm so happy and motivated to continue blogging.

IT Girls Night In.

Happy 10th anniversary Teen Vogue!
I hosted a Teen Vogue IT Girls Night In last night in honor of Teen Vogue's first 10 wonderful years. The night was incredibly fun! My friends and I made rice krispies, painted our nails, played games, and talked all night. My favorite game was pin the kiss on the donkey (Ryan Gosling style of course!)
----
Teen Vogue sure knows how to treat their readers! TV supplied the party with decorations, craft supplies, swag bags, and Manoush LeSportsac bags!! I'm so happy to be an IT Girls and to have had the opportunity to celebrate with Teen Vogue!

Good Vibes

Day light savings couldn't have had happened on a more hectic week.
My sleeping pattern is ridiculous and I'm juggling as much as I possibly can. On the bright side, tonight I can finally take a break at a concert in my hometown. Rebelution is playing and I cant wait! Tonight will be fun, but nothing compared to my plans for tomorrow night.

Tomorrow I'm hosting a Teen Vogue IT Girls Night In in honor of Teen Vogue's 10th anniversary!
I already know it'll be a blast. I can't wait!

The Next Episode.

It was cloudy and raining these past few days.
I picked the worse possibly dates for my college tour. I visited Long Beach and San Diego. Would you believe me if I told you that it was hailing in San Diego?! I just returned home and although it was ridiculously windy in my home town, I was happy to see the sun again.
----
I've mentioned the idea of attending school in San Diego in an older post, and during my recent trip I absolutely fell in love with that city all over again despite the rain. There's a great possibility that I will attend university there. I'm excited!

Rain is not Pretty Amazing.

It's amazing how often I wear these boots, and have never featured them on my blog. It's one of my wardrobe staples. Everything else that I'm wearing are clothing pieces that I've traded with my friends!
----
It was mostly cloudy today and it's supposed to pour in Southern California later this week. I am not looking forward to the rain. I absolutely do not like the rain. I'm touring universities in a couple of days, and I really hope that the rainfall won't ruin my trip!
